Ø Starting with the negative, we seem to be moving backwards in time towards the “Skinny at all Costs.” With actresses and models gracing the red carpet with their collar bones as accessory and Ozempic featured on every other advertisement break, there lies a pressure to gravitate towards the cardio machines and appear small and dainty. However, we can look to history to see how we handled this. After this trend, the pendulum swung over to the other side to show us body-positive models and women running to the gyms to grow strong and capable. I believe in the latter part of the year, we will see pushback towards this trend.
Ø AI Wellness? Enter your information and it puts together a “personalized” workout for you? These apps already exist and can be found. And I imagine they will become more popular. However, they are not infallible. They cannot tell you if your form looks good. They cannot check in on if your prior injury is feeling any pain. They cannot fully personalize and update it to your needs.
Ø New Wearables. Oura Ring? Apple Watch? These have been around for a bit. I imagine a new and improved Wearable Wellness Accessory showing up on the scene in 2026.
Ø Continued venture into fitness competitions. We’ve had Spartan, Crossfit, Tough Mudder and, most recently, Hyrox. People want a reason to workout. They want a community to work besides. These communities and events give them a goal to work towards while also building strength and losing fat.
What else do you think 2026 holds for the wellness community?
